SAGAING DIVISION – According to Tabayin township IDP (internally displaced people) support group, they have supported 135,000 MMK per a household for the IDP from a village in the western part of Tabayin township, Sagaing division, in June where almost 500 households were burnt down due to the junta council’s arson attack.
A member of IDP support group said that “We have supported them (IDP) in June. 135,000 MMK per a household and a total of 482 households. We supported 65 million and 70 thousand MMK in total. The donors are the civilians. The village was set on fire in June, 2022. 480 houses, almost all of the village, were burnt down to ashes. The villagers who were effected by fire are living in the village by building the temporary tents.”
The member continued that “the assistances are still needed as there are over 6000 fire-damaged houses in Tabayin region. There are also IDP from other townships who have been forced to flee from their places. They also need a lot of assistances.”
Tabayin township IDP support group have tried to get supports and assistances for IDP from Tabayin township who were effected by fire. They are also trying to provide support for the other villages.
