KAREN STATE – The principal of a school teaching war displaced children said that Phaung Ngan School in the western part of Demoso Township, has a large demand for stationery, chairs and teaching materials for the current school year.

“We need a lot of textbooks and stationery. We don’t have teaching materials and training for teachers, so we need advanced training. Also, the seats are not enough for KGs and the children have to sit on the ground, so we also need mats. It’s for their health. When it rains too much, the rainwater gets in. The roof is also not enough,” said the school principal.
Since the school has classes from KG to Grade-5, the teachers teach each class one by one, and also teach painting, and music when they have time.
It’s been reported that since most of the people teaching are CDM teachers, they have difficulties supporting their families.
