KACHIN STATE – Military sources stated that two civilians were injured because the junta camp in Dotphoneyan fired heavy weapons into Dotphoneyan Town in Moemauk Township, Kachin State. The Dotphoneyan based infantry battalion 142 fired seven heavy weapons into the town on November 5 around 2.44 p.m.
The military news source said that seven heavy weapons were fired and they landed into church, hospital and civilian wards. Two civilians, one man and one woman, were injured. The two injured civilians were taken to the hospital in Bhamo.
It has been reported that the junta council targeted the civilians on purpose without any battles in the area. The Dotphoneyan based junta camp had similarly fired heavy weapons in the past without any battles and damaged schools and injured people.
The junta council has been carrying out artillery and air strikes in Laiza, the KIA (Kachin Indepedence Army) headquarters in recent days.
