LONDON – It was known that Mr. Kim Aris (aka) Mr. Htein Lin, the younger son of the state counsellor Aung San Su Kyi, had delivered in person the birthday card for his mother to the Embassy of Myanmar – Landon. But the Embassy of Myanmar – London refused to deliver it.
Mr. Kim Aris went to the Embassy of Myanmar at 11 a.m. (London local time) to deliver a bouquet and the birthday card for the 78th birthday of his mother which falls on June 19.
He had requested the Embassy from the door of the embassy to deliver the bouquet and the birthday card. But a female employee from the embassy didn’t accept and refused to deliver. They (embassy employees) didn’t even open the door for Kim.
As they didn’t open the door, Kim put the birthday card through the door of the embassy and he fastened the bouquet with the railing of the embassy.
He said that even though he is doubtful she will receive it, he still remains hopeful.
He said that “He still remains hopeful that the military will have enough heart to let his mother know that he was thinking of her on her birthday.”
He also asked the military to return her to her home in Yangon.
