MYANMAR – NUG Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than said that even if State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi is freed, the National Unity Government (NUG) will not change the path of the downfall of the terrorist junta group and the establishment of a federal democratic union.
The Prime Minister said this during the special meeting held at 4 p.m. last Monday (July 31) by the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) and the National Unity Government (NUG) regarding the ongoing political changes.
“There have been questions on if there will be any changes if Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is freed. We will not change at all. We will follow the will of the people. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi also attaches importance to the people’s will. I would also like to say in this meeting that we will not change. We will not be able to establish a federal democratic union as long as the 2008 constitution exists. The main thing is that the terrorist regime needs to fall. If we collaborate together, there’s nothing that’s impossible,” the NUG Prime Minister said.
Interim President Duwa Lashi La also pointed out that it is important not to fall for the tricks of the terrorist group.
“We have a federal democratic charter. (1) The complete eradication of tyranny and (2) the establishment of a federal union. This is the most important route. Our political path is already there. No matter how much we face difficulties or threats, it is important that we do not go along with the tricks of the terrorist group,” the Interim President added in his speech.
At the meeting, the current political situation was reviewed and discussed. They also discussed and negotiated the necessary activities to cooperate with allied organizations and activities to be carried out in accordance with the Federal Democratic Charter.
