MYANMAR – The National League for Democracy (NLD) has warned that the junta council has created a situation that could lead to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s deteriorating health since the junta coup.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, 78, has garnered the most support from the public, and Min Aung Hlaing’s junta council continues to detain her for political reasons. The junta council also refuses to provide her with the necessary support that all political prisoners should receive, including access to proper living conditions, food, and medical care.
NLD warns that the junta council must take responsibility if anything happens to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s health. The NLD has also called on the United Nations, the leaders of international organizations, neighboring countries, and local and international revolutionary forces to provide increased protection for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and other political prisoners.
