SHAN STATE – It has been reported that from July 29 to August 6, over 20 civilians were abducted by junta troops in Ywangan Township, Pindaya Township, Danu Self-Administered Zone and nearby regions.
The locals said one week after the formation of Danu People Liberation Front (DPLF) on July 29, civilians were abducted by suspicions.
“They (abductees) are not related with politics or anything. Junta just abducted them to scare them,” said a man living in Ywarthit ward , Pindaya Township.
Junta troops abducted Mr. Aung Moe who live in Zawgyi village on August 5, Mr. Kyaw Thein and Mr. Han Win Thu from Nyaung wine village on August 4, Mr. Naung Naung who live in Zaytan ward and
Mr. Myo Thant including his seven family members who live in Ywarthit ward on July 29, total 11 civilians in Pindaya Township.
On July 29, junta troops also abducted Mr. Than Soe, Mr. Win Thein and other two civilians, total 4 from Paeyintaung and Hlwasin villages, Ywangan Township.
In addition on August 1, a woman was abducted in Kaungbo village, Yatsauk (Lawksawk)Township, Pindaya- Yatsauk border. Her four family members were also abducted on August 2.
It is not known where 20 abductees were kept and family members were worried as they are unable to contact.
Local sources mentioned that a Pyu Saw Htee robbed and killed Mr. Win Maung and Ms. Ma Oo (husband and wife) in Konebaw village, Tharsi Township, Tharsi- Ywangan boundary bordering Danu region on August 5.
