“They were taken 5 in one group. They were abducted to be asked to carry the ammunition. They heard that junta forces would re-enter and torch Hlataw village. On the morning of May 25, while junta forces were drinking alcohol and got drunk, they ran from the back entrance. They were accompanied by other people but the information of the rest who fled along with them haven’t been heard yet,” as continued by him.
The junta forces that abducted the hostages were stationed in Wetlet and it was heard that they would come back to Hlataw village, as said by the local people.
Currently, some local people from Hlataw are still reaping the sesame crops, but they are ready to flee when the junta forces come back into the village.
