MAGWAY DIVISION – A junta checkpoint in Thahmone Konegyi Village, Natmauk Township was attacked by the Oppressed People’s Revolutionary Force (OPRF- PLA) at about 6:00 p.m. on Thursday (October 26), according to an official of OPRF – PLA.
“The junta soldiers have been stationed in this checkpoint starting from the second half of 2023. It is just a camp after they had penetrated villages,” he said.
During the attack, two junta soldiers were seen to have been shot to death.
After the attack, the junta council reinforced the Thahmone Konegyi checkpoint and investigations were carried out in the vicinity, while the members of the OPRF – PLA could return to their camp with no casualties.
Although there are normally 20 soldiers deployed in the Thahmone Konegyi junta checkpoint on Natmauk-Saikaung Road, only ten were found when the attack was carried out. The mentioned checkpoint is located 15-minute motorcycle ride from Natmauk downtown.
