SHAN STATE – According to the Ta’ang Women’s Organization, six civilians were killed in the military council’s aerial bombardment at around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday (January 7) on a village captured by the Ta’ang Army (TNLA) in Namhsan Town, North Shan State.
The Ta’ang Women’s Organization initially informed that the deceased were six people: a Ta’ang National Education Committee teacher and his two sons, and three women from Myothit Village.
During the bombardment, the residents of Myothit Village had to flee to nearby villages, and many homes were damaged.
The Ta’ang Women’s Organization said that Myothit Village was bombed without an ongoing fight, and the details of the injured are still being investigated.
This is the second time that the Myothit Village in Namhsan Town was bombed. On the night of November 19, 2023, two civilians were killed and eight were injured in a similar aerial bomb attack in the region.
Namhsan, also known as the town of green tea, was captured by the TNLA during Operation 1027 in mid-December, 2023.
