SHAN STATE (NORTH) – Local residents reported that a house in Namhpakka Village, Mai Sao Hill, Kutkai Township, was destroyed due to heavy weapons fired by the junta army on July 24 at around 11:30 p.m.
“There is nothing left. The whole house is torn apart. People are alive because of God’s blessing,” said a local woman.
The roof and walls of the house were torn apart. Even the blankets in the living room were torn, and pots, plates, and utensils, including a flask, were broken. but the mother and two children who were sleeping at home survived.
“There are even two big holes near the top of the head. It would be hard if they were sitting. They survived only because they were sleeping,” she commented.
She explained that the time of the explosion was late at night, so the housewife and her two children were sleeping at home.
“There is one heavy piece of artillery that hasn’t been exploded yet. It’s on the road from Zidaban Village towards Namhpakka market,” said a local man.
On the evening of July 18, a civilian was killed and three others were injured as a heavy weapon from the junta army hit a house in Zidaban Village near Namhpakka.
Local people are worried and afraid as the junta troops are often firing heavy weapons without having any battles, locals said.
