KAREN STATE – Karen National Union (KNU) issued a statement saying that KNU met with the International Karen National leaders, Karen community leaders, and the Karen people and informed them of the current political and military situations.
The meeting ceremony with Karen people who live abroad was held at KNU Central Headquarters on December 21 and 22.It was also stated in the statement that the joint secretary of KNU, Padoh Saw Hla Htun, mentioned the purpose of holding the meeting. KNU held the meeting ceremony as they would like to inform the public about the activities of KNU and the political, military, battles, and on-ground situations.
Padoh Saw Hla Htun also mentioned that “it is vital for the Karen people who lived in the country as well as the Karen people who lived abroad to work together to reach the desired goal according to the policies of KNU.”The administrative officers of the KNU Central Committee, the military officers of KNLA, the Karen international leaders, Karen community leaders, and the Karen people attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony, they paid tribute to the Karen National Flag, the revolutionary comrades, the civilians who sacrificed their lives for the country, and the martyrs by staying silent for a few minutes.
During the ceremony, a member of KNU Central Headquarters, Padoh Naw Dar Dar, the chief justice of KNU, Padoh Naw Myaing Pho, the field marshal of KNLA, General Saw Tar Ma Lar Thae, and the vice adjutant general of KNLA, Man Fan Lone Hein, said greetings to the attendees.
