MYANMAR – Under the leadership of Malaysian MP Teresa Kok from Seputeh, 135 Malaysian MPs from various parties are urging the junta council to provide medical treatment for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, a state counsellor who has been illegally detained by junta troops, and to release her as quickly as possible.
“We are deeply concerned about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s deteriorating health. Therefore, we urgently request the junta council to ensure she receives medical treatment from qualified doctors. We also stand in solidarity with the people of Myanmar, alongside other ASEAN MPs, and strongly urge the junta council to release Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners,” said the statement from the Malaysian MPs.
