MYANMAR – According to data from the AAPP as of June 19, the junta council has murdered up to 3,672 civilians since the coup.
The statistics show that 19,037 individuals have been abducted, and 6,456 of them were sentenced to prison between February 1, 2021, and June 19, 2023. Among them, 115 have been sentenced to death, 121 were sentenced in absentia, including 42 who were sentenced to death in absentia. Therefore, the data indicates that up to 157 individuals have been sentenced to death.
Twenty-four individuals have been released on bail, and 4,341 have been released. These numbers have been collected by the AAPP, and the real-time data may be higher than reported as the AAPP continues to track the data for future statistics.
