MYANMAR – The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) reported that a total of 3,933 innocent people had been slaughtered by terrorist junta forces across Myanmar, after over two years of the bloody coup d’état in Myanmar.
As of 15 August 2023, 19,758 people are currently under detention and 7,041 out of them had been sentenced in person during the Spring Revolution, according to the record of AAPP.
Of those convicted, a total of 105 death row prisoners were sentenced to death in connection with the spring revolution and are being detained in prison. A total of 119 people had been sentenced in absentia including 43 people sentenced to death. It brings the total to 148 people who have been lawlessly sentenced to death.
Currently, a total of 4,507 people have been released including 24 people on bail. The reported figures were compiled by AAPP within their range and the actual casualties are likely to be higher. It was said that if more data is collected, it will be added further.
