MYANMAR – Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) reported that the junta council has murdered up to 4,071 people since the coup, according to data as of September 11.
From February 1, 2021, to September 11, 2023, the junta council abducted 19,458 individuals, and 7,310 of them were sentenced to prison.
Of those, 103 were sentenced to death, and 43 were sentenced to death in absentia. A total of 119 were sentenced in absentia, and 146 received death sentences, according to AAPP’s data.
Twenty-four were released on bail, and 5,293 were completely released. This data was collected by AAPP, and the real-time numbers might be higher, as updates are ongoing.
AAPP can be contacted to provide information of anyone who has been abducted, detained and prosecuted during Spring Revolution such as leaders of civil society organizations, civilians, activists, journalists, CDM workers and others from various fields including fallen heroes.
