MYANMAR – The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) reported that a total of 4,519 innocent people had been murdered by the atrocious junta forces across Myanmar, after the bloody coup d’état in Myanmar, from February 1, 2021, to February 12, 2024.
AAPP has also separately listed around 1,000 unidentified victims whom the atrocious junta has killed.
It has been reported that 26,056 people were abducted and detained, among them, 20,087 abductees are currently under detention and 8,781 out of them have been sentenced, according to the data compiled by AAPP from February February 1, 2021, to February 12, 2024.
Of those convicted, a total of 199 death row prisoners were sentenced to death in connection with the Spring Revolution and are being detained in prison. A total of 119 people had been sentenced in absentia, including 43 people sentenced to death. It brings the total to 162 people who have been sentenced to death.
Currently, a total of 5,969 people have been freed. AAPP compiled the reported figures within their range and the actual data on the ground is likely to be higher. It was said that if more data is collected, it will be added further.
AAPP can be contacted to provide information on anyone who has been abducted, detained, and prosecuted during the Spring Revolution, such as leaders of civil society organizations, civilians, activists, journalists, CDM workers, and others from various fields, including fallen heroes.
