MYANMAR – The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) reported that a total of 4,572 innocent people had been murdered by the atrocious junta forces across Myanmar, after the bloody coup d’état in Myanmar, from 1 February 2021 to 22 February 2024.
AAPP also has separately listed around 1,000 unidentified victims who have been killed by the atrocious junta.
It has been reported that 26,171 people were abducted and detained, among them 20,166 abductees are currently under detention and 8,801 out of them have been sentenced, according to the data compiled by AAPP from 1 February 2021 to 22 February 2024.
Of those convicted, a total of 121 death row prisoners were sentenced to death in connection with the spring revolution and are being detained in prison. A total of 119 people had been sentenced in absentia including 43 people sentenced to death. It brings the total to 164 people who have been sentenced to death.
Currently, a total of 6,005 people have been freed. The reported figures were compiled by AAPP within their range and the actual data on the ground are likely to be higher. It was said that if more data is collected, it will be added further.
