MAGWAY DIVISION – People’s Defence Force (PDF) of Myaing Township announced on Tuesday (August 22) that one of the PDF members stole a gun and joined the military council. The defector reportedly gave tips about the location of PDF campsites and thus resistance forces needed to be relocated as soon as possible.
The important camps in Pakokku District and those in other bordering areas are being exposed and marked on the map, and thus it is wise for resistance forces to relocate, as announced in the report.
“I suggest not to destroy the camps when relocating, and be on standby and prepared when the military council column launches offensives,” said Lieutenant Latyar of Myaing Township PDF.
He went on to say that Mr. Tatoo, a PDF member who defected to the military council has been to many camps of local resistance forces for cooperative missions. He reportedly exposed more than 70 camp locations and is currently staying with the military council troops.
In the statement issued, locals are also cautioned to be aware of the air strikes; to avoid living in the villages, and to migrate to the forests to ensure minimal casualties and losses. It is also mentioned that those in charge of people’s administration forces and public health sectors should not live in a fixed place but move around and live in secrecy.
Mr. Tattoo (aka Htet Waiyan) who served as a PDF member in Myaing Township for more than 2 years, had stolen the battalion commander’s M16 rifle on the evening of August 15 and defected to the junta troops at Impin Village, Pakkoku Township.
