TANINTHARYI DIVISION- A large force of Junta soldiers entered Pantin-Inn Village in Laung Lone Township on Tuesday morning (May 16) and reportedly arrested some villagers, according to the locals.
“The troops are walking here and there. Three or four villagers were reportedly detained. The number and details of detainees are not yet known,” said a villager.
Starting around 8 a.m. on May 16, about a hundred Junta soldiers (in march column and on five military trucks)from Nabule region entered Pantin-Inn Village and locals reportedly heard two blasts, believed to be heavy weapons, at around 9:30 a.m.
The villagers’ motorcycles were also reportedly loaded onto junta trucks to be taken away, but this could not be independently confirmed (by the media).
Currently, the junta soldiers are in Pantin-Inn Village Monastery, and the detainees have not been released yet.
The junta column currently in Pantin-Inn Village had raided the villages in the Nabu Area in the past two days. Many locals who were forced to flee at that time are returning homes now.
