TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Palaw Karen People’s Defence Force (Palaw – KPDF) which has been bringing an armed revolution against the junta council and based in Palaw Township, Myeik District, Tanintharyi Division is announced to be restructured as a company 5 of Karen National Defence Organisation (KNDO) Battalion 7 on Sunday (July 02).
“We have transformed as KNU/KNDO with the intention of being more united as Karen Nationalities. In addition, we would like KNDO to be more consolidated in strength to eradicate the military dictators and have restructured to regain control of the Kawthoolei territory,” an official from company 5 of KNDO B-7 said.
Palaw KPDF is known to have confronted the junta council with muskets as one of the local defence teams since before forming as a force into Palaw-KPDF on January 03, 2022. Moreover, Palaw KPDF reportedly performed 44 battles as military operations since its establishment.
During the engaged battles, Palaw-KPDF could eliminate 203 junta thugs and injured 263 junta thugs. There were two fallen comrades and 11 injured comrades at Palaw-KPDF side.
Furthermore, there are at least 60 People’s Defence Forces in Taninthayi Division and some forces have already cooperated with Kawthoolei Army (KTLA) to perform military operations and some allied with KNLA/KNDO forces which are the armies of Karen National Union.
