SAGAING DIVISION – Mr. Zaw Htet, the leader of Palae Township People’s Administration Organization (PAO), said that five people, including the township justice chairman and a child, were killed when the junta council planes bombed the People’s Administration Court in Palae Township.
Mr. Zaw Htet said that, on December 12 at about 12:05 in the afternoon in Palae Township the courthouse of the township People’s Administration Organization in Mintaipin Village was bombed twice by the military council using 500-pound bombs.
Due to the attack, township Justice Chairman Mr. Thein Aung, his wife, a school teacher, a defense soldier, a one year-old child and the child’s mother were killed.
Mr. Zaw Htet said, “They attacked twice. The bombings were only a minute apart. A total of five people were killed. Another man who was hit is likely to survive. There were three people unrelated to the PAO at the court: a couple and a child. The man had fled from the village of Zee Phyu Kone which is a Pyu Saw Htee village. His wife, who had left the village before, came together with the child to meet him. That’s when it happened,” said Mr. Zaw Htet.
There was no fighting on the ground nor was there a ceremony at the court. Mr. Zaw Htet speculated that the court was attacked because someone informed the junta council that the court was open.
“They intentionally targeted the court. The defendant and his child in the court were among the dead,” said a PDF comrade.
The terrorist army of the junta council had previously attacked Mintaipin Village on December 1, 2022 and at least ten houses were damaged in an airstrike.
