AYEYARWADDY DIVISION – The junta council soldiers abducted and murdered Mr. Nay Myo Htet, who argued about an accident between a motorcycle and a bicycle. They also pressured his family members to cremate his dead body at night, and he was cremated on Monday (July 3) at 7 pm.
On July 2, an accident occurred between a motorcycle and a bicycle on Tagaung Pagoda Hill, leading to an argument. The owner of the bicycle informed the administrator of No. 8 Residential Ward, and Mr. Nay Myo Htet was subsequently abducted.
The administrator, Han Win Aung, did not help him in at all and handed him over to the junta soldiers stationed at Pagoda Hill. The junta troops reportedly abducted and murdered Mr. Nay Myo Htet at the interrogation site.
Later, the junta soldiers returned his body to the family members but pressured them to cremate it immediately, despite his obituary stating July 4 as the date of cremation, according to the residents. Two junta officers are listed among the junta troops who murdered Mr. Nay Myo Htet.
One resident said that the bicycle owner, who is a junta supporter, accused Mr. Nay Myo Htet of looting items, and he was tortured and murdered without reason.
