TANINTHARYI DIVISION- It is known that the military council is commanding their ward administrators to collect the lists of those fleeing due to political activities in their respective wards in Pathein City.
Residents reported that the Junta troops and ward administrators are taking photographs of the houses of the activists and politicians who have been fleeing since the coup (as they are wanted by the Junta regime for staging protests).
“Mainly we are checking whether the wanted person is back in the neighborhood. His house as well as his relative’s house are on the list to be monitored. We have to report the latest condition of monitoring along with the list,” a hundred-household administrator in Pathein told the media.
In Pathein, the ward administrators convinced the remaining family members of the political activists that if they came back, they would be readmitted without being detained or charged.
Similarly, in Irrawaddy Division, since early August, military council troops and the police have been collecting a list of uninhabited houses.
