MAGWAY DIVISION – Residents reported that the military council’s defense industry (Ka Pa Sa) 24 in Pauk Township opened heavy weapon fire at the nearby villages on Saturday (January 6).
A member of the People’s Defence Forces said that after the military council planned to transport weapons and ammunition from those factories in Magway Division, they started firing at the villages with heavy weapons.
At about 10:00 a.m., Ka Pa Sa 24 fired two large weapons at Lalbe Village in Pauk Township, and it exploded near the north of the village monastery.
“They fired heavy weapons towards the southeast of the Pauk Township. Although it fell in the village, no one was hurt,” said a local.
A Mi-17 aircraft also landed at around 1:00 p.m. at Ka Pa Sa 24, according to locals.
In addition, a defence force member reported that Ka Pa Sa 21 in Seikphyu Township was also shelling the civilian villages on Saturday morning.
It is said that the junta council has increased heavy artillery attacks and on ground offensives targeting the villages and territory under control of the defence forces in recent days as it is planning to transport weapons and ammunition from the Ka Pa Sa factories.
