BAGO DIVISION – Junta council artillery shells were dropped and exploded near Thaman Kyin Village, Kyaukgyi Township, east of Bago, on Friday (July 21) at around 9:30 a.m., wounding one child who was working in the field and one civilian.
The junta soldiers from the camp at Oak Phyat Bridge, Phyu Township, fired two 60MM shells. “They have 81 and 120MM shells, but they used 60MM shells, and it dropped inside the field, causing injuries to the child and the civilian,” said a resident.
Mr. Phyo Htet Oo, 13, from another village, was wounded, and Mr. Soe Thu, 35, was wounded in his arms, but they are not in critical condition.
The junta soldiers from that place frequently fire heavy artillery shells at the villages and are also frequently attacked by PDF comrades. On July 19, Htein Lin, a junta police officer, was killed with head injuries when PDF comrades shot him with a sniper.
