BAGO DIVISION – A man from Mahargyi Ward in Bago City was said to be abducted at his home by junta troops on allegations that he supported the PDF (People’s Defence Force).
52-year-old Mr. Than Min Htut was taken away from his home by a large number of junta troops around 9 p.m. on Sunday (July 30).
“They arrested him for supporting the PDF. Junta forces have been using the same allegation to arrest people. Many have been abducted that way in Bago,” said a resident.
Mr. Than Min Htut, a trader by profession, has done volunteer works during the COVID pandemic.
It is currently unknown where the junta forces brought him or where he is being detained.
Around three days ago, a man from Dainaut Ward in Bago who works as a K Pay agent was similarly abducted by junta forces under allegations of supporting the PDF.
It is said that just this July, around ten people have been abducted in Bago by junta forces for alleged association with PDF or supporting PDF.
