BAGO DIVISION – Tun Lin, the junta administrator of Kan Myint Village in Bago Township, is being forced to recall the youths who are away and are required to serve the junta council, according to residents.
Early on Sunday morning (February 25), Tun Lin inspected the household registration list and found that around 100 youths are eligible under the conscription law. Kan Myint Village has over 600 houses, and the youths must return to the village to serve the junta council. If they do not comply, the rest of their family members will be sentenced to three years in prison.
“Tun Lin stated that over 100 youths from among the 600 houses must return to the village to serve the junta forces. On February 26 (Monday), a meeting will be held with the parents, and they must agree to the conscription law. If someone refuses to serve the junta council, one of their family members will be sentenced to three years in prison,” said a resident of Kan Myint Village.
Tun Lin has been the junta administrator of Kan Myint Village since the start of the coup. He has also been involved in reporting to the junta council, encouraging support, and mobilizing resources for the junta forces and their auxiliary militia.
