BAGO DIVISION – It has been reported that the wife and children of Captain Thant Zin Oo from junta light infantry battalion 90, who led his team and destroyed the pagodas, temples and religious buildings at Daesonpar religious region, Wanbaein Village, Bago Township, Bago Division, after alleging that PDF soldiers were hiding in the area, had to abscond their home.
The junta captain from Thanlyin based light infantry battalion 90, destroyed pagodas, temples and religious buildings at Daesonpar region in the first week of October and he hired the civilians from Zalotegyi Village, Kawmhu Township, Yangon Division, paying ten thousands kyats per head to destroy the pagodas. The wife and children of Captain Thant Zin Oo also lived in Zalotegyi Village, Kawmhu Township. But they absconded after their information became common knowledge.
A local explained that the junta forces threatened to harm the village if they saw the news of the junta captain’s family. “After the captain found out that news of his family had been reported, he forced the villagers to guard his house. Now they absconded from village. We don’t know where they absconded to.”
It has been reported that the Captain from light infantry battalion 90 who led and destroyed pagodas, temples and religious buildings at Daesonpar region was also from Zalotegyi Village and he led and hired some villagers and carried out destroying at religious region. Captain Thant Zin Oo who destroyed pogodas, had just recently recovery from injuries sustained in a car accident.
