BAGO DIVISION – Fire broke out in Penwegon market of the city development council, Kyauktaga Township, Bago Division on the evening of April 2 which caused 430 shops and 10 houses to be burned down, as said by the local people.
Around 7 p.m. on April 2, fire reportedly broke out in Penwegon market of the city development council which burned down the whole market. Moreover, the fire spread and burned down 10 houses near the market until around 10 p.m. when the fire was brought under control.
It is said that the fire started from a wire shock and the whole market was burned into ashes. About 15 to 20 villages nearby depend on the market to earn their daily bread. About 430 shops as well as 10 houses were burned into ashes, as said by a local civilian.
