MANDALAY DIVISION – Nung Cho Township, which was occupied by the revolutionary forces, is 10 miles away from Pyin Oo Lwin City in Mandalay Region. The National Unity Government of NUG said that the junta council is attacking to recapture the military base in Tharet Kone village, and 59 terrorist soldiers were killed during the fighting. The Ministry of Defense issued a press release.
People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) released the statement that “On April 14th, Thingyan Day, 20 short-range missiles were fired into the DSA campus in Pyin Oo Lwin. Early in the morning of April 15th, they attacked Tharet Kone village near Pyin Oo Lwin, where the military council was stationed, and in the evening, they captured Tharet Kone village’s military camp.
The PDF-MDY said that since April 19th, the junta army has been fighting to recapture the Tharet Kone village. A strong counter-offensive was launched by air and land forces. In the battle on April 19th, when the PDF resisted and attacked the Junta Council troops, about 15 terrorist soldiers were killed and many injured. In the battle on April 20th, 2 people’s defense soldiers were lost. In the battle on April 21st, 13 terrorist soldiers were killed and 15 were injured on the side of the junta council. On the evening of April 22nd, a drone attack was carried out on the location of the junta council army’s artillery site, killing 3 soldiers and injuring 7 others.
Also in the morning of April 23rd, a fierce battle took place and about 15 soldiers were killed. On April 24th, they exchanged fire with heavy weapons. On April 25th, about 13 soldiers were killed and 16 were injured in the midday battle.
During these battles, the terrorist army carried out 32 airstrikes. Among these attacks, 26 times hit religious buildings, such as monasteries, that were not military targets and 8 times hit villages where people live.
