BAGO DIVISION – According to the residents, some houses in the city were inspected a day after the viral news about junta’s plans to arrest CDM employees in Pyay Township and its surroundings in western Bago Division.
It was reported by close junta sources that CDM staff will be hunted and arrested from July 18 from 20.
“Last Friday, the houses in Nawin Ward were checked to see if CDM employees are still there or not. The news came out a day before the inspection,” said a resident.
In earlier July, the military council’s propaganda telegram account “Ent Ohn Thwin” posted threats about arresting the CDM teachers.
“It’s good to avoid them in advance. They do random guest checks, so I don’t want my people to get arrested. Some CDM staff reportedly returned home as they think the situation has cooled down. But the junta informants (Dalan) are watching the neighborhoods,” said a local political activist in Bago.
According to the list, there are almost 200 CDM staff to be arrested, according to people close to military council forces.
Last month, on the State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi’s birthday, about 15 people who participated in flower strike and birthday prayer were arrested as they were identified and mentioned on the junta propaganda telegram account, Ent Ohn Thwin. Some profiles of the victims are highly secured and the posts related to politics are only visible to friends only.
