KAREN STATE – KNU Brigade 5 announced on Friday night (June 16) that 71 battles happened in the Karen National Union (KNU), Hpapun District within June, and 45 members of the military council were killed.
The report covers the situations of the battles between the junta council and the Battalions and Companies under the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 5 from June 1 until the 15th.
It is stated that 45 soldiers of the military council were killed and 13 were injured in 71 battles, and 5 mules and a military vehicle of the military council were also attacked and destroyed.
During these battles, four comrades of Brigade 5 fell and ten were injured.
On June 14, when the two weeks of fighting in Hpapun District were initially announced, the reports mentioned 31 battles and 12 junta deaths, and the circumstances of the battle, which were not mentioned at that time, are announced now.
It is said that an innocent citizen was killed as a result of the deliberate firing by military council with heavy weapons into villages, residential buildings and garden estates that were not related to the fight.
