KAREN STATE – KNU (Karen National Union) 5th Brigade issued a statement on September 5 that around 150 battles occurred between the junta and KNLA (Karen National Liberation Army) in Hpa-pon District during August.
143 battles occurred from August 1st to 31st that killed 88 junta soldiers including a captain and injured 57 junta soldiers.
It was also stated that five soldiers of the KNU Brigade 5 fell and 26 were injured in said battles.
Seven junta buildings and offices and one military vehicle were destroyed and 25 donkeys of the junta army used in transport were killed in August battles.
Junta forces fired heavy artillery into residential villages and farms, and carried out airstrikes that killed one civilian and injured five, stated KNU Brigade 5.
