KAREN STATE – Royal Peacock Column announced on April 26 that Comrade Ko Bay Gyi and Comrade Ko Nget nobly sacrificed their lives while fighting bravely for the country on April 24 during the battle to capture the base of light infantry battalion (LIB) 340 of the terrorist junta council in Hpapun.
“Royal Peacock Column shall remember Comrade Ko Bay Gyi and Comrade Ko Nget as heroes and salute them. We shall forever honour and record your bravery,” stated Royal Peacock Column.
The military operation began in Hpapun on March 19. The police stations and camps of the junta council in the town were captured by March 24 and the National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Defence announced on March 26 that revolutionary forces have seized control of Hpapun.
NUG added that the revolutionary joint forces captured junta infantry 19 on March 30 and light infantry 434 on April 25, seizing a large number of arsenal and announced that the operation is Hpapun is still ongoing under the command of the Southern Military Region (JOC).
Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 5 has informed that the junta council is continuing airstrikes in three townships of Hpapun District.
Under the command of the Sub Military Region 2, Southern Military Region (JOC), KNLA, People’s Defence Force (PDF), Force For Federal Democracy (FFD) and Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) are implementing the military operation in Hpapun.
