KACHIN STATE – Hpakant locals said that a car carrying some terrorist junta council officers who were going to a KTV in Mashi-kataung area was damaged by a mine attack by the People’s Defence Forces in the early morning on Tuesday (May 23), and the car was towed away by a crane.
At around 1:30 a.m., the car was attacked with mine in the uphill of Mashi-kataung area, a local said. “The car was toppled. I couldn’t see clearly because it was dark at night. A few minutes after the explosion, a car arrived and picked up people. About half an hour later, it was pulled up with a crane,” said a local.
A member of the Hpakant Township People’s Defence Forces said that they prepared the ambush after receiving news that five people, including some officers of the terrorist junta council, were on their way to a KTV. “The AD van with the junta officers was blasted. The car stopped at once. At 2 a.m. a crane towed the damaged car,” said the PDF member.
The condition of the casualties caused by the mine attack is not yet known.
Back on April 23, revolutionary forces launched an attack at HAPPY KTV in Mashi-kataung Ward, when the commander of battalion 13 under Division 33 of the junta council was present.
