KARENNI STATE- Locals reported that the junta council bombed Kyauk Pae Nyo village, located on the east of Hpasawng Town, twice using jet fighters on Sunday (July 9) at 1:40 p.m.
“Since their ground forces couldn’t launch offensives towards the village, junta regime used aerial bombardment. The locals have been avoiding the war for more than two weeks. There are damage to their homes, but the details are not yet known,” said a Karenni military news source.
“No causality was reported during the bombardment using at least 8 aerial bombs,” said the official of Hpasawng PDF.
“There was no causality from aerial bombardment but the battle may continue at any time. The junta council is trying to enter the Mese Town across the Hpasawng-Thanlwin Bridge, and we are blocking it. Nobody knows what happen next,” he replied the media.
The Mese town is currently controlled by the Karenni Army. The junta’s troops from 44th Military Division that try to enter the town are jointly attacked by the revolutionary soldiers of the Hpasawng People’s Defense Force(PDF), the Bawlakhe PDF, the Loikaw PDF and the two ethnic armed organizations (EAOs).
