SAGAING DIVISION: In Paungbyin Township, Mawlaik district, Sagaing Division, the junta’s army was said to have launched airstrike to the Innkone village monastery with MI2 helicopter, resulting in 7 people including a child to be wounded, as said by the local people.
Around 10 a.m. on January 2, a helicopter taking off from Homalin reportedly launched the airstrike to Innkone village monastery without having any battles in the region, as said by the local people.
The attack caused 7 people including a child from Monastery to get wounded and one of them was under critical condition, as said by Phaungbyin local resident.
“Mi2 from Homalin recklessly dropped bombs around Phaungbyin region without having any battles in the region,” as said by a local resident.
Around 10 p.m. on January 1, about 150 soldiers from Infantry Unit (272) reportedly arrived at Saechaung village, Phaungbyin township.
During the third week of December, Mi-2 helicopter taking off from Homalin had launched the airstrike to the villages from Homalin, Phaungbyin and Tamu townships.
The attacks reportedly killed the 5 displaced people from Thutithar village, Homalin township and a three-year- child from West Khamine village, Phaungbyin township.
