SAGAING DIVISION – A three year old child was killed and another child was injured by junta airstrikes in west Khamine Village of Phaungpyin Township, reported the locals.
At around 2 p.m. on December 17, a junta attack helicopter opened fire on west Khamine Village that is around 14 miles from the town although there was no battle in the area.
“Five bombs: two in the school and three in the village, were dropped. Two girls were hit by the blast. One was killed on the spot. The older child is also in a 50/50 condition,” explained a resident from near Khamine Village.
It is said that a three year old died after getting hit by shrapnel while her 12 year old sister is also on a life threatening situation. The funeral of the deceased child was held on December 18.
During the third week of December, the junta airstrikes targeting the Homalin-Phaungpyin area killed five displaced people from Thutitar Village in Homalin Township. A driver from Thakkalkyin Village also received a shrapnel injury and five cattle were killed.
