BAGO DIVISION – Bailey Bridge on Phyu- Okehpyat Road, which the fascist army and patrol columns often pass through, has been detonated and destroyed, according to the military’s press release and the report from local residents.
According to the press release by the junta council, a mine explosion occurred on the Bailey Bridge connecting the Phyu-Okehpyat road and Wel Gyi Village, and the bridge was reportedly destroyed on September 19 at around 10 p.m. At present, junta army forces and policemen are investigating the case.
A local resident said that the junta’s convoys frequently passed by on the Phyu-Okehpyat road, and military forces often patrolled there. The Junta army usually sets up checkpoints on the Phyu-Okehpyat road, and shootings often occur.
“There are frequent shootings there. The junta’s column and army forces usually used that route. The army also opened ambushes next to the road. Civilians have also been shot by junta soldiers. The road is open for public use, but the people dare not use it. The bridge was opened only recently. Some trucks and wood trucks were passing,” said a local resident.
It has not yet been officially announced which group demined the bridge.
