BAGO DIVISION – Local residents reported that Yay Pya and Thanatquin villages have been raided, stationed by junta troops and civilians were forced to leave from their homes.
The terrorist army raided Yay Pya and Thanatquin villages on the morning of August 23 and opened fire in Thanatquin village. The atrocious army soldiers also threatened the people from Yay Pya Village to leave the village and that they would start firing arms after 12:00 p.m.
“The military thugs stationing at the whole Yay Pya Village and forced the villagers to leave latest by 12 noon. They are now shooting in Thanatquin Village. Now all the villagers have to move out of the village. We don’t know the condition of Thanatquin. The military soldiers said they don’t allow anyone to enter the village after 12 noon,” said a local resident.
More than 1,300 people have been living in Yay Pya Village, and the entire village is currently fleeing. The terrorist army opened fire in Thanatquin Village and the situation in the village is not yet known, locals said.
