SOUTHERN SHAN STATE – According to a local resident, in Rasauk Township, Ba Htoo Tat Town, southern Shan State, the junta council gathered the thieves and the robbers in the vicinity and gave them military training to form the Pyu Saw Htee militia.
A local resident who lived near Ba Htoo Tat Town mentioned that they have heard the sounds which come from military training.
He said, “Every morning and every evening, we hear the sounds of the running from the physical training (PT) of the military training, the sounds of the gunfire practise and the heavy weapons. As far as I know, the thieves and the robbers from the nearby villages of Rasauk, the people who have been in prison and the sons and the daughters of the soldiers and the people who support the coup council are included.”
He explained that he doesn’t know the exact number of the trainees as the civilians can’t see the training in the army compound.
Ba Htoo Tat Town is a town in the southern Shan State. It is located one mile away from Rasauk Town. It was named to pay tribute to the fallen colonel Ba Htoo and it was opened by prime minister U Nu in 1955.
Tatmadaw (Army) Cadet Academy is located in Ba Htoo Tat Town and it is a town where the military training schools and infantry combat units are based.
