SAGAING DIVISION – Banmauk Revolution (BR) Battalion stated that two civilians (one 66-year-old man and one 33-years-old woman) were taken lives and six houses were destroyed by the junta’s air raids with two fighter jets without battles in Naung Kan Village, Banmauk Township, Sagaing Division on Thursday (May 25) at around 9:17 p.m.
“There was no battle in that village (Naung Kan Village). The clashes had been engaging around Kyaung Lel. The village, being air-raided and the battleground village were totally different. They dropped the bombs recklessly. Since the villagers are known to sleep earlier at around 7 or 8 p.m. and the airborne attacks were committed around 9 p.m., many minor injuries besides deaths are said to occur though bomb types and quantities are still under investigation,” an official of the BR battalion said.
Currently, the battles between the junta troops and the revolutionary forces have been intense in many townships at the border of Kachin State and Sagaing Division and the junta council has reportedly accelerated using air strikes.
