KACHIN STATE – KIA led revolutionary forces captured the bridge over the Ayeyarwady River (Sinn Khan) and the junta security gate camp in Banmaw township.
The junta council camps in Moemauk, Mansi and Banmaw were attacked by the KIA-led revolutionary forces started at 5:00 a.m. on May 7. Sinn Khan junta camp in Banmaw township, Ayeyarwady River bridge security junta camp, Sinn Khan bridge security outpost and the Sinn Khan junta police station were seized.
“The fighting was going on near the city police station in Mansi. The fighting is fierce in Moemauk. The junta side is strong. We have got all the camps near Banmaw and Sinn Khan village. They also control the bridge over the Ayeyarwady River (Sinn Khan). The junta opened fire near the Sinn Khan village junta camp for only 1 hour and then they all run. Our forces are already started clearing the area,” said the KIA frontline source.
In Kachin State, during the operations that started on March 7, almost 100 camps of the junta council army have been captured by the revolutionary forces led by the KIA.
