YANGON DIVISION – Time bombs were detonated at a liquor shop where the junta thugs were gathering and drinking and at the military-owned Mytel showroom, said Mr. Panda, a member of the Dark Shadow (YGN UG) group.
On May 5, a time bomb was detonated at the Mytel showroom in Yuzana Tower in Bahan Township at about 6:50 p.m. and another one at a liquor store next to the Mytel showroom at about 7 p.m. The junta members from EPC, municipal, electrical, and communication offices, and police usually gathered and drank at that shop. The attack was said to have been operated by an urban guerrilla group, Dark Shadow, and the details of casualties were not yet known, but the Dark Shadow Group members were able to retreat safely.
The Dark Shadow (YGN UG) group said that the MyTel showroom was attacked as an economic target by the military council, and the liquor shop was targeted as it was a gathering place for junta lackey staff from various departments such as EPC, municipal, and police.
Similarly, on May 5 at about 8:05 p.m., the scouting group in Yangon, Eagles News, reported that a loud explosion was heard somewhere in Hlaing Township.
“Yes, there were bomb explosions, but I don’t know where the exact location was,” said a resident living in Oak Kyin at Hlaing Township.
