SHAN STATE – The terrorist junta council faked a battle in Banying Town, Hsihseng Township in the Pa’O Self-administered Region of southern Shan State and fired over 40 heavy artillery shells, killing two civilians including an infant and destroying multiple houses, announced the news and information department of Pa’O National Liberation Army (PNLA).
On February 17 around 9 p.m., the junta soldiers and subordinate Pyithusit militia in light infantry battalion (LIB) 425 and 426 bases in Banying Town one-sidedly fired their guns and shot over 40 rounds of heavy weapons into Htanyam Village and Htitam Village. As a result, a six month old infant from Htanyam Village and a man from Htitam Village were killed while the parents of the infant were also injured.
In addition, two civilians from Htitam Village and five from Htanyam Village were also reported to have been injured.
Those two villages were not stationed by PNLA soldiers not were there any PNLA troops present in the villages at the time of the attack. The junta council intentionally attacked the village with the aim of harming the civilians.
Also on February 17, the terrorist junta and Pyithusit forces fired over 100 rounds of heavy artillery into Kyaukkasya, Lonehee and Sangaw Villages in the area of Maene Mountain, stated the PNLA Information Department.
