SAGAING DIVISION – More than 300 evacuees who fled the village are refugees at the edge of the forest because the terrorist army burned Hsone-kon village, Budalin township, and Sagaing division. It is reported that the local defense forces donated food and clothes were donated at around 7 o’clock on May 31st.
The leader of the Zamani People’s Defense Force said that about 200 houses were destroyed when the military group set fire to Hsone-kon Village, which has about 300 houses, on May 28.
“Those whose houses were destroyed are no longer living in the village. There are only a few people in the village whose houses did not burn down. We have taken care of the fire victims. Today, we buy and donate rice, oil, salt, and clothes with the money we can afford,” he said.
He added that the distribution of donations was made in the school of Hsone-kon Village, and each household was given 4.5 quads of rice. “It totally costs us 3 million MMK, he added.
As of May 31, a military council column is still active in the surrounding area of Hsone-kon village, so the local people do not dare to stay in the village and live in the woods.
Currently, more than 10 children who have fled the fire are sick with running noses and coughs, so the Zamani People’s Protection Group has given them medical treatment. The leader of the Zamani People’s Defense Force said that the public should help donate as medicine and other supplies are still needed.
