MAGWAY DIVISION – It is reported that the military council bombed the villages in Saw, Pauk, and Seikphyu Townships, resulting in some civilian casualties.
On the evening of December 15, the military council bombarded more than six villages (of Magway Division) with aircrafts, simultaneously.
“I heard that some locals were killed in Thanpuyarpin Village, Seikphyu Township. We received reports that four planes took off from the base and two of them flew over and launched aerial attacks. The details of the damage are not yet known,” said a resident of Seikphyu.
The military council had aerial bombed Kyaukmasin, Kapaing Anee, Shahla, Tachaungro, Kyunpin, Chekan and Thigakone, Kyaukswel and Thanpurapin Villages.
As a result of the bombardment, two civilians in Thanpurapin Village were reportedly killed in the explosion, but the media could not confirm the news individually.
Moreover, due to the junta aerial attacks in Saw and Seikphyu Townships on December 13, and the attack on NUG court in Pale Township’s Mintaingpin Village on December 12, several injuries were reported.
In addition, on December 15 noon, Tharsi Village in Myaing Township, Magway Division was torched by junta troops and almost half of the 200 houses in the village was destroyed.
The former UN Special Envoy for Myanmar; Noeleen Heyzer, upon meeting the coup leader back in August 2022, urged him not to attack civilian targets or burn down civilian homes.
