MAGWAY DIVISION – The No. 7 Battalion of Minbu District reported that the local people are helping to work on the paddy fields for PDF’s ration.
It is said that the PDF comrades started working in the food farms in early September, the local people cooperated as well as providing the land needed for the farm, seeds, and technical know-how to grow, to find ways to prevent the spreading of insects.
“The people rent the land to plant. They also help with planting time and the seed of rice. We have to plant to ensure the food supply of the battalion,” said the 7th Battalion of Minbu District the person in charge of the information.
More than one acre of rice has been planted in that farm. He added that the cost of farming for the battalion was only for the ploughing fees of rice, the uprooting and planting of rice and cost of agricultural chemicals.
He said that the cost is only 70,000 kyats for renting a tractor for ploughing to plant rice, 60,000 kyats worth of necessary rice seeds, 3,000 kyats per morning for each labour.
It is reported that the battalion’s comrades and local people are working together to meet the needs of some necessity jobs for nursing in the paddy field such as spraying for planting and irrigation.
