MAGWAY DIVISION- Locals reported that four soldiers were killed in a car accident in Minbu Town on July 13.
The junta convoy leaving Rakhine State reached Minbu- Ann Road on July 13, when a junta truck overturned on Natyaykan Road near the 46-mile point at around 4 p.m., as reported by locals.
“The car front tyres may have blasted. The car fell into the trench alongside the road. Four bodies were seen lying flat on the ground. Some injured soldiers were seen transferring to the remaining cars as well as onto ambulances,” stated a Minbu local man.
It is not yet known whether the junta troops come back and pick up the car that fell into the trench. The reason why so many military vehicles (around 90 in number) left for Minbu is also questionable, the local continues.
In 2020, a car accident occurred near the 46-mile point where the military vehicle overturned. The seven people in the car reportedly died on the spot during that incident.
Similarly, on December 12, 2017, a 6-wheeler truck carrying bags of rice from Rakhine to Magway overturned near Gotkyi Village on the Minbu-Ann Road, near the 13-mile post, and 2 men were killed.
